4th Degree Black Belt

Noel began training martial in 1983 after being bullied by older kids at school. He trained and competed in amateur boxing until a serious eye injury forced him to retire.

In 1987 he began studying Judo and trained/competed for 12 years before trying his first Brazilian Jiu Jitsu class at the age 30. At this time, 1999-2000, Noel was one of the first Americans to study Brazilian Jiu Jitsu in the US. He immediately immersed himself in Jiu Jitsu and would regularly drive 4 hours each way to learn the gentle art. He opened the doors to his first academy as a Blue Belt in 2001 along with his friend Jon, back when almost no one knew about Jiu Jitsu and its effectiveness.

Noel has now been training BJJ for a quarter century and is one of the first Americans on the east coast to learn Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. He has trained and competed all over the world including the world championships in 2008 and 2011. His extremely technical approach attracts students from all over the mid-Atlantic region, including those from PA, WV, VA, DE, and DC.
